On Tuesday, 11-22-11, Google announced more plans to shut down certain features of its product offering. This was announced on the Google blog by a Senior Vice President, Operations. One such feature is Google Friend Connect, or GFC. As you probably know, this is the feature that allows readers to follow or become members of your blog. Beginning in March of 2012, this feature will be "retired" on all non-Blogger blogs (as you may know, Blogger is a Google product, so it comes as no surprise it will still be allowed on Blogger). If you are using GFC on a Wordpress, Typepad or another blog host, or on a website, it's recommend that you join Google + and add the Google + icon to your site to direct your readers there. I'm now quite glad I didn't hop over to Wordpress as soon as Google had trouble! I'm super proud of my GFC numbers and I would hate to lose it after all this work!

Hi Anne! Brett over at Linky Tools just developed a similar type item, so you should check it out (linkytools.com). I don't know if it'll catch on quite the same, but he's trying.
Tracy, I don't know how I missed your comment, I'm sorry! For me, Google + isn't nearly as active as Facebook, but I'm on there nonetheless and post occasionally. I should post there more....
