Facebook Launches Promoted Posts
The "rumors" seem to be true. Facebook appears to be launching their new Promoted Posts. In a nutshell, this new option for business pages enhances their Edgerank algorithm in that your status updates can realize a much higher reach...if you pay for it. Business Insider wraps it up pretty nicely. Read about it and let me know what you think. Will it help or hurt your little biz? Do you think you would use it?

I'm not really sure how I feel about this. On one hand, if I'm doing a great job interacting with my current fan base then I shouldn't have a need to pay for promoting particular posts. However, who knows how much "traffic" I'm actually missing out on, without paying to promote. It's definitely something for me to watch and consider. Thanks for sharing! Hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.
Blessings to you,
Rosann
Stats show only about 20-25% of your likers see your posts. This is based on FB's Edgerank algorithm that basically shows your posts to those who interact with you page. If they like you and are never seen again, your post will not show up in their newsfeed. I think Promoted Posts would be great for big promos and special news, but not for everyday posts. And yes, Rosann...you do a great job interacting with your fans!
Generally i am pretty happy with all the recent Facebook updates. It is getting much more functional and practically- oriented rather than strictly catering for its main purpose: to connect people from the four different corners of the world. However, I wouldn't pay extra for such an improvement, but that's just me.
